Wyoming’s long awaited Chancery Court is opening its doors on December 1, 2021.
On September 21, 2021, Chief Justice Kate M. Fox issued an Order adopting Wyoming Rules of Civil Procedure for the Chancery Court. The Rules take effect on December 1, 2021 when the new court becomes operational. A copy of the Order, and the nearly 100 page set of Chancery Court Rules, can be found here. No forms are provided with the new Rules.
In tandem with this Order, Chief Justice Fox issued an order governing the Chancery Court’s fees and costs. A copy of that Order can be found here.
We note that jurisdiction requires consent of all parties, a factor addressed previously on this Blog.
We also note that Chancery Rule 78.1 gives the court discretion to conduct remote appearances by parties and witnesses.
