The New York Commercial Division Advisory Council has organized a lunchtime lecture series during June 2024 for summer interns working with Commercial Division Justices, summer associates at law firms, and lawyers and judges who are interested in the Commercial Division. The series will be presented virtually on Zoom to summer interns in the Commercial Division, summer associates throughout the United States, and law firms and bar associations worldwide. The goal of the series is to educate our future lawyers about the Commercial Division and commercial practice, the wide variety of cases that come before the Commercial Division, and the value of clerking, interning, and litigating in the Commercial Division. The speakers at each program will include a Commercial Division Justice and at least one attorney. Each of these four programs will last approximately one hour and will be scheduled between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. ET.
The topics and principal speakers are:
Date | Topic | Speakers |
June 6, 2024 | Motion Practice | Robert J. Giuffra Jr. |
June 12, 2024 | Written and Electronic Discovery | Lynn K. Neuner |
June 18, 2024 | Depositions | Roberta A. Kaplan |
June 26, 2024 | Trials | Loretta E. Lynch |
If your firm’s summer associates or attorneys or if your court staff would like to attend, please contact Bob Haig, the Chair of the Commercial Division Advisory Council, at ggrissett@kelleydrye.com.
The Commercial Division Advisory Council presented similar lecture series during June 2022 and June 2023. The lecture series in 2022 was primarily for summer associates in New York State and the lecture series in 2023 was expanded to summer associates throughout the United States. Because of the success of the 2022 and 2023 lecture series, this year’s lecture series is being offered worldwide.
Thank you to Bob Haig for notifying us of this program.
