The New York County Lawyers Association held its 2025 Annual Gala at The Pierre Hotel in Manhattan on Tuesday, March 4th. The sold-out event, chaired by Robert L. Haig, welcomed more than 400 members of the Bench and Bar and honored the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court on its 30th Anniversary. Adrienne B. Koch, President of NYCLA, presented opening remarks. Richard P. Swanson, President- Elect of NYCLA, presented NYCLA’s highest honor, the William Nelson Cromwell Award, to the Commercial Division Justices. Acceptance remarks were presented by Hon. Marguerite A. Grays of the Commercial Division. Fifty-four General Counsel of major corporations served as members of the Honorary General Counsel Committee for this event. The program included remarks from Heather C. Mulligan, President and CEO of The Business Council of New York State, Inc., Michael D. Fricklas, Chair of the Honorary General Counsel Committee, and Brian P. Campbell, Treasurer of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC).
Attendees also viewed the world premiere of a film about the Commercial Division, followed by remarks from Hon. Joseph A. Zayas, Chief Administrative Judge, and Hon. Rowan D. Wilson, Chief Judge of the State of New York. The film can be viewed here: A COURT THAT MEANS BUSINESS on Vimeo
